The Knock-On end ?

The famous equipment manufacturer Gilbert and an English company specialized in data management (Sportable) has just released a new rugby ball with revolutionary technology.

This new oval ball would be directly linked to a 3D tracking that would give referees a live tracking of the ball’s trajectory. This new technology will be easy to install as it will be integrated into the LED panels already present in the stadiums.

A revolution that will facilitate the work of the referees concerning the knock-on, the passages in touches, but also the validation of some tries where the referee does not have the visibility necessary to see the ball cross the line behind some players.

The new creation of Gilbert and Sportable has already been tested in England by the national team during training sessions, but also during a second division match between Saracens and Coventry.
